Meet Saani Mohammed
Founder & Director
Tour Africa Travel Agency
I grew up in Northern Ghana, in the savannas of West Africa — where shea and baobab trees stand over wide, open grasslands, the harmattan breeze turns the sky gold in December, drummers carry history in their hands, and a stranger is greeted as a guest before they are ever asked their name.
For almost two decades, I have lived in North America. Living between these two worlds has given me a perspective that sits at the heart of why I created Tour Africa Travel Agency.
I believe Africa and the rest of the world need to know each other better.
The Africa I Want the World to Discover
When people from other parts of the world talk about Africa, they sometimes talk about one story. A story of hardship, of safari postcards, or of a single country standing in for fifty-four.
Rarely do they talk about the Africa I know: the laughter at a roadside chop bar, the quiet of an elephant crossing at dusk in Mole National Park, the pride of a market woman who has run her business for forty years, or the music that pulls you to your feet before you’ve decided to stand.
I started Tour Africa Travel Agency because I want the world to meet that Africa.
Africa Belongs to the World
You don’t have to be African to experience Africa.
Maybe your family’s story began here, and you’ve always wondered what it would feel like to stand where your ancestors stood. Perhaps you’ve never thought about visiting Africa, but something — a song, a dish, a photograph or a conversation — has made you curious.
Both journeys matter. Both are welcome here.
Some travellers come to reconnect. Others come to discover. Some are interested in history and heritage. Others are attracted by natural beauty, cultural festivals, business opportunities or the simple pleasure of experiencing somewhere new.
My hope is that people leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation of Africa than when they arrived — and perhaps with new friendships, lasting memories and a desire to return.
My vision for TATA is to help create stronger connections between Africa and the rest of the world — one traveller, one experience and one relationship at a time.
Why I Care About the Journey
I’ve lived on both sides of this journey, so I understand the questions people ask before they book.
Where should I go? Is it safe? Who can I trust? How do I see more than the usual tourist stops? What should I know before travelling?
Those are fair questions, and travellers deserve honest answers.
Behind every booking is a person. Sometimes it’s a family reunion, a first trip abroad, a business opportunity, an anniversary celebration or a lifelong dream.
We want to treat it that way — by listening, communicating honestly, paying attention to the details and helping travellers understand their options.
My background in business, public policy and international development has taught me how to plan carefully, work across cultures and manage complex projects. But that isn’t really why TATA exists.
TATA exists because I believe in Africa: in its people, its history, its creativity and its future.
That part doesn’t fit on a résumé.
More Than a Travel Website
I don’t want TATA to become just another website where people click a button, book something and move on.
I want to build something with a purpose: a company that helps people discover Africa, supports the African diaspora in reconnecting with their heritage, introduces new visitors to the richness of the continent and creates opportunities for meaningful travel experiences.
And although Africa is at the heart of our identity, our customers travel everywhere. Whether someone is travelling to Accra, Nairobi, London, Dubai or Toronto, we want TATA to be a useful starting point for their journey.
Where This Journey Begins
Ghana is where my story begins, and it’s where we’re starting. But the larger story belongs to the whole continent.
My hope is simple. One day, someone in Toronto, London, Houston, Dubai, Tokyo or São Paulo will look at a map and say:
“I want to experience Africa. Let me start with TATA.”

How Our Collaboration Works
Tour Africa Travel Agency manages international marketing, customer communication, reservations and customer payments for the Ghana @ 70 experiences.
Moon Touch Travel & Tours coordinates and delivers the Ghana-based tour operations and applicable local travel services.
Experiences are subject to availability, applicable booking conditions and final confirmation. Travellers should review package descriptions and payment information before reserving.
